ENGLISH COMPOSITION CONTEST "PROUD OF MULTI DISCIPLINARY AND
SUSTAINABLE UEH" UEH ENGCONTEST 2024

Innovating the form of improving English pro ciency for sta and employees, UEH
organized for the rst time the English composition contest "PROUD OF
MULTI-DISCIPLINARY AND SUSTAINABLE UEH” (UEH - EngContest 2024) combining
writing, speaking, and artistic creativity skills listed as podcasts and videos, making it
di erent from previous English pro ciency improvement activities that focused on

training.
By combining art and sustainable education, the works in various forms (articles, posters,

podcasts, videos) have shown the imprints, memories and feelings of UEHers regarding
sustainable projects at UEH, encouraging creativity and re ecting sustainable values to
motivate participants to spread positive messages. The winning works in the contest
were compiled and vividly presented by the Organizing Committee in the form of
e-books with beautiful designs (see more at LINK ).

The UEH EngContest 2024 is an innovative initiative that has a positive impact on the
UEHer community and is fully aligned with the UEH development strategy 2025-2030.
The initiative contributes to improving English pro ciency and spreads sustainable values
and the spirit of UEH pride and solidarity, helping to build the image of a pioneering
university in combining education, arts, and sustainability to create a solid foundation for
future community development activities.

DEVELOPING AND IMPROVING ENGLISH PROFICIENCY FOR LEARNERS THROUGH
REPLICATING THE ENGLISH ZONE MODEL ON CAMPUS UEH ENGLISH ZONE

The English Zone was rst deployed by UEH in 2021 for students, lecturers, sta and
employees to experience a dynamic English living environment through 03 regular
activities (co ee exchanges, chess games, club activities and weekly lm screenings) and

04 periodic activities (music performances, language seminars, career seminars and
cultural exchanges every month and every year). After three years of organization and
improvement, the English Zone has gradually become an indispensable part of students.
Not only does it contribute to improving language skills, but it also opens up
opportunities to connect with international friends for students to con dently express
themselves and their language abilities.

In 2024, UEH English Zone was replicated by the Department of Student A airs at UEH
Nguyen Van Linh in August 2024, with the goal of supporting, developing, and improving
English pro ciency for learners at campus N in general and development orientation for
UEH Nguyen Van Linh dormitory students in particular. The activity has attracted the
participation of a large number of UEH students.
