LEADING UEH DEVELOPMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MODEL OF

A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY AND SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSITY

The term 2020-2025 marks a strong transformation of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh
City (UEH) from a multi-disciplinary university model to a multi-disciplinary and sustainable
university model. Implementing the Party's guidelines and the Government’s legal policies on
university autonomy and internationalization of education, with the vision of becoming a
leading university in Asia, UEH has a rmed its pioneering position in the innovation of higher
education, sustainable development, serving the community, providing high-quality human

resources in various areas of the economy. This result demonstrates the comprehensive
leadership in the spirit of innovation and sustainable development thinking of the UEH
leadership, in which the Party Committee is the core political "nucleus" that brings the
University rmly on the path of development. On the threshold of the New Year, let's review
some outstanding achievements in the past term of the UEH Party Committee.

COMPREHENSIVE LEADERSHIP OF PROFESSIONAL TASKS

UEH continues to a rm their prominent position in the Vietnamese higher education
system, becoming a bright spot thanks to its remarkable achievements in training,

research and innovation. With quality academic activities and strong international
connections, UEH not only contributes to enhancing the reputation of Vietnamese
education but also makes a positive mark on the global academic map.

REGARDING UNIVERSITY GOVERNANCE

UEH has successfully implemented a strategy to restructure the organizational structure

to match the modern university model according to international standards. On the
foundation of establishing member colleges, including UEH College of Business, UEH
College of Economics, Law and Government, and UEH College of Technology and Design,
the University’s management model has also undergone strong changes, improving
university governance capacity to create an important premise in developing training
programs in both quality and quantity.

UEH's new progress is also clearly demonstrated through the expansion of scope and
responsibility in developing human resources for localities and regions. In addition to the
Vinh Long Campus which has been established and put into stable operation, UEH was
approved by the government to establish another branch in Khanh Hoa Province. This
marks an important step in UEH’s development strategy, a rming their commitment to

accompany socio-economic development in the South Central, Southwest and Southeast
regions, and demonstrating their role and strength in training high-quality human
resources and in scienti c research and knowledge transfer to serve the community.
