PROMOTING INTERNAL STRENGTH A MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND SUSTAINABLE UEH

2023: O cially receiving the decision to become a Multidisciplinary University

With a carefully prepared roadmap and solid steps, especially focusing on the step of
equipping internal resources for transformation, on October 4, 2023, the Prime
Minister signed Decision 1146/QD-TTg on transforming UEH into a University, o cially
becoming one of 8 higher education institutions in Vietnam operating under the
model of “Multidisciplinary University”, uni ed and integrated with the system of

advanced universities in th e world. In accordance with this decision, UEH o cially
began a new journey with a new name and position “University of Economics Ho Chi
Minh City”.

2024: Entering the Top 501-600 World Universities (THE Rankings)

The Party and Government’s international integration policy, the comprehensive
autonomy strategy in 2008, the persistent internationalization journey since 2012, and
the Multidisciplinary University model promoting the internal strength of each unit
and the transformation into a University committed to sustainable action in the past 3
years are the important driving forces that continuously push UEH forward.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY AND SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSITY WITH A REPUTATION IN WORLD

Being a Pioneer in changing, the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University strategy
initiated and determinedly implemented by UEH over the past 3 years has brought about
extremely proud achievements in Education, Research, Governance, Campus and
Community. Speci cally, in 2024, UEH achieved many impressive results as follows:

T raining: Enrollment meets plan, benchmark scores and excellent student ratio

increase. Ensure training quality through training quality accreditation with a total
of 19 programs recognized as meeting FIBAA standards, 7 programs meeting AUN
standards to date. Promoting training activities linked to practice through implementing

projects, simulations and case studies, encourage and support students to participate in
internships at multinational and global companies. Enhancing equipping students with
necessary future skills like global leadership and sustainable thinking to meet the
requirements of the international labor market and contribute to sustainable development.

R esearch: UEH's faculty has published more than 550 articles in international

journals listed in ISI/Scopus, many of which have high IF indexes in elds like
economics, management, technology and sustainable development. Student
scienti c research activities have also achieved impressive results with 689 student

scienti c research awards at all levels won in the past year. In addition, 18 prestigious
international and national conferences organized by UEH in the past year continue to a rm
UEH as an important academic destination for the domestic and international scienti c
community.
